UNC Table Stakes participant providing free at-home content for NC students

UNC-TV, a three-time participant in the UNC-Knight Foundation Table Stakes Initiative, is providing free, curriculum-informed content for North Carolina students, over-the-air and streamed online.

By executive order of the governor, public schools across North Carolina are closed due to COVID-19 through May 15. These closings have left thousands of students at home with reduced access to structured instruction.

To address this educational gap, UNC-TV and the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction are partnering to support school-age children learning at home by providing two blocks of programs on UNC-TV’s North Carolina Channel each weekday.

Fourth through eighth grade students will be served from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and ninth through twelfth grade students from 1 to 6 p.m.
